My Story

Hi, I’m Lisa, the artist behind Pet Rocks LF.
Other than art class in grade school, I never knew I had a love of painting until in early 2020, while walking my dogs through the neighborhood, I noticed a young neighbor’s rock garden filled with hand-painted stones with ladybugs, rainbows, and cheerful designs beneath a sign that read, “Take a rock, leave a rock.” I was instantly drawn to its simple joy and sense of community.
Inspired, I began painting rocks to add to her garden like flowers, bumblebees, and lady bugs meant to make someone smile. Not long after, a close friend asked if I would paint a rock in honor of her beloved dog, Zeke. That single request changed everything.
Since painting Zeke, I’ve had the privilege of creating over 400 custom, hand-painted stones honoring cherished pets, dogs, cats, lizards, and even horses. Each stone tells a story, capturing the personality and spirit of a beloved companion. As word spread, so did my gratitude for the trust people place in me.
It is truly an honor to be invited into such meaningful moments whether celebrating a life well lived or creating a lasting keepsake of a pet who will always be family. Every rock I paint is created with care, respect, and love.
